Wellow Golf Club
Wellow Golf Club sits in the Test Valley near Romsey, on parkland laid out as three separate nine-hole loops that interlink to form different combinations of eighteen holes depending on which two loops are played together. That structure gives members and visitors more variety across repeat visits than a single fixed eighteen-hole routing would allow, with each loop offering its own mix of holes through woodland and open meadow. The wooded sections provide shelter and definition to the fairways, while the more open meadow ground brings a different, more exposed character to other parts of the course. Being set within the Test Valley, an area better known nationally for its chalk streams and fly fishing than for golf, Wellow occupies a quieter corner of Hampshire away from the busier courses closer to Southampton. The rural surroundings near Romsey give the club a calmer, more secluded feel than many parkland courses closer to the city, with the three-loop layout remaining the defining structural feature of a round here.
