Wilderness Golf Club

🤍

Wilderness Golf Club is set within a private estate near Seal, just north of Sevenoaks in the part of Kent where the Greensand Ridge runs parallel to the North Downs. The TN15 postcode covers this stretch of west Kent, an area of mixed woodland and farmland that has long attracted country estates thanks to its combination of sandy, well-drained soil and proximity to London along the A25 and A21 corridors. Sevenoaks itself takes its name from a historic stand of oak trees on the town's Vine cricket ground, and the surrounding countryside, protected within the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, remains largely rural despite the town's commuter links to the capital. Knole House and its deer park lie on the opposite side of Sevenoaks, part of the same belt of wooded estate land that extends north towards Seal and Ightham. The club's secluded, members-only character reflects the private-estate origins common to several courses along this ridge.
