Clober Golf Club, at Milngavie on the northern edge of Glasgow, plays over 18 holes to a par of 66 for men across 4,963 yards, with a shorter par-67 layout of 4,514 yards for women. The course was laid out by George Lyle, whose nephew Sandy Lyle went on to win both the Open Championship and the Masters; Sandy Lyle holds the position of Honorary President at the club. Facilities include a bar and kitchen, and the club runs a fixture programme through the year alongside a knockout competition and reciprocal arrangements with other clubs, allowing members to arrange games away from Clober itself. A club professional shop operates alongside the course, and the club publishes a scorecard together with a World Handicap System chart for visiting golfers. Both member and visitor tee times are bookable in advance, and the club runs open events and outings through its season in addition to its regular competition calendar. Clober sits within the wider Milngavie area on the northern fringe of Glasgow, giving it a semi-rural setting despite its closeness to the city.
