Clyne Golf Club sits on the high ground above Swansea Bay, on the western fringe of the city where Glamorgan's coastline gives way to the Gower Peninsula. Founded in 1921, the club has been established for more than a century, predating much of the golf development along this stretch of the South Wales coast. Its 18 holes are played to a par of 72, a full-length round typical of established clubs from this era. Swansea itself sits on the Bristol Channel, with the Gower — the UK's first officially designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty — extending to the west and the Brecon Beacons visible inland to the north. Golfers travelling to Clyne are within easy reach of Mumbles and the Gower's beaches, as well as the wider amenities of Wales's second city. The club's history stretches back to the years immediately after the First World War, making it one of the older courses in the Swansea area.
