Crow Nest Park Golf Club

Crow Nest Park Golf Club opened in 1995, making it a comparatively recent addition to the golf courses scattered through the Calder Valley around Brighouse. The park sits in the valley cut by the River Calder between Huddersfield and Halifax, West Yorkshire mill-town country where steep valley sides, once lined with textile mills, rise up from the river on both banks. Brighouse grew as a Calder Valley manufacturing town, and several municipal parks along the river were laid out on former mill or estate land, giving a nine-hole course here a compact, undulating character shaped by the valley rather than open farmland. Green fees range from £15 to £25, in keeping with a municipal or pay-and-play course rather than a private members' club. The surrounding West Yorkshire towns, Huddersfield to the south-east and Halifax to the north-west, are both within a few miles, placing the club firmly within the industrial heartland of the Calder Valley.
