Course details last verified 1 August 2026 from the club’s own website.

Garesfield Golf Club was created in 1922 and occupies wooded, rolling ground in the Derwent Valley on the Tyne and Wear and County Durham border. The eighteen-hole course runs through mature woodland, with the surrounding countryside opening into views across the valley at several points on the round. As a private members' club, Garesfield keeps its course primarily for its own membership while still welcoming visitors and society bookings through direct contact with the club. A regular calendar of events runs through the golfing year, including club championships, seniors' fixtures and inter-club matches against neighbouring courses such as Roseberry Grange, reflecting an active competitive culture alongside casual play. The club also hosts functions and special occasions at its clubhouse. Garesfield's position in the Derwent Valley places it among a number of North East clubs built into wooded, hilly terrain rather than the flatter parkland found closer to the Tyne itself, giving the course a more secluded character despite its proximity to Newcastle and Gateshead. Tee times and enquiries are handled by email and an online booking system.
