Morpeth Golf Club

Morpeth Golf Club was founded in 1906, with its 18-hole course designed by Harry Vardon, winner of the Open Championship six times and one of the most influential figures in the early development of golf course design. The parkland layout is set across roughly 130 acres of undulating Northumberland countryside on the edge of Morpeth, giving the course a settled, mature character shaped by more than a century of growth since Vardon's original routing. The rolling ground typical of this part of Northumberland provides natural elevation changes across the round, and the course has been used to host a number of significant events over the years, reflecting its standing among the county's golf venues. Alongside the golf, the club places emphasis on its food and drink offering for members and visitors after a round. Morpeth itself is a historic market town, and the club's proximity to it makes the course easily accessible for both local members and visiting golfers travelling through Northumberland. With Vardon's design pedigree and well over a century of continuous play, Morpeth Golf Club remains one of the more established parkland courses in this part of the north-east.
