Mortehoe & Woolacombe Golf Club

Mortehoe & Woolacombe Golf Club was founded in 1992 and plays over nine holes on the headland above Woolacombe on the North Devon coast, close to Ilfracombe. This stretch of coastline, sometimes called the Golden Coast, is known for its three-mile stretch of sand at Woolacombe Bay, regularly rated among Britain's best beaches, and for the small villages of Mortehoe and Woolacombe that sit on the cliffs above it. Exmoor National Park lies a short distance to the east, and the combination of coastal headland and moorland edge gives this corner of North Devon a dramatic, exposed character quite different from the gentler South Hams further along the county's southern coast. A round currently costs between £20 and £25, reflecting the club's position as a smaller, nine-hole course rather than a full championship layout.
