Redhill Golf Centre Golf Club

🤍

Redhill Golf Centre lies in Redhill, a Surrey town that grew up around a Victorian railway junction rather than an older market centre, developing after the London to Brighton line was built through the area in the nineteenth century. The town sits within the borough of Reigate and Banstead, on the lower slopes of the North Downs, with the chalk ridge rising just to the north and the Surrey Weald opening out to the south. Redhill's position on the London rail line, and its proximity to Gatwick Airport a few miles further south, have shaped it into a commuter town with strong transport links rather than a historic settlement in its own right. The surrounding landscape combines the wooded scarp of the Downs with lower, gently farmed ground typical of this part of the Weald. The postcode RH1 places the centre close to the heart of Redhill itself, within a short distance of the town's railway station and main shopping area. Reigate, the older town after which the wider borough is named, lies immediately to the west, with its own high street and castle grounds that predate Redhill's Victorian growth by many centuries.
