Richmond Golf Club lies on the outskirts of Richmond in North Yorkshire, a few minutes from Scotch Corner, where the A1 meets the A66. The eighteen-hole course crosses rolling parkland and carries four par fives and five par threes in its layout, with the closing hole a short par three, played to a green set directly in front of the clubhouse; men play it at 162 yards and women at 120. Buggies may be used across the whole course. Greenkeeping staff continue to make small adjustments to individual holes, adding new tees and bunkers as part of ongoing work to the layout. The club has featured among lists ranking UK courses for value against their green fees, a recognition that dates to 2018. It sits just beyond the historic centre of Richmond, on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, and stays open to play throughout the year without resorting to temporary winter greens. The surrounding district, Richmondshire, was named in a 2019 survey as a notably good place to live in England. The club offers scorecards and a hole-by-hole course guide online, and builds tailored packages for both small groups and larger societies visiting for the day.
