Lanhydrock Golf Club takes its name from the historic house and estate that lies on the southern edge of Bodmin, Cornwall's former county town, positioned between Bodmin Moor and the Camel Estuary. The eighteen-hole parkland course occupies 150 acres of mature Cornish countryside and forms part of Lanhydrock Hotel & Golf Club, which also has a 45-bedroom hotel, a gym, and function and conference suites. It is reached from the A30 and A38 and lies about an hour's drive from Exeter. Nearby runs the Camel Trail, a largely traffic-free route along a disused railway line that follows the Camel Estuary and links Bodmin with Padstow, used by cyclists and walkers. The hotel and course are owned and managed by the Bond family, who also created the Jack Nicklaus Course at St Mellion. Dining at Lanhydrock includes bar meals and a three-course dinner served in the Bistro. The club address is Lostwithiel Road, Bodmin, PL30 5AQ. Bodmin itself grew up as a market and administrative centre on the edge of the moor, its position on the old coaching routes through Cornwall making it a natural staging point between the county's north and south coasts.
